ok, so mm recieved an actual complement today.......regarding her choice of literature at the advanced age pf 47...............'at least you read colette and not romance novels..........'there was a bit of exchange about whether colette was, in fact, a romance author..............gentle readers, madame colette was the first woman to receive a medal from the academie francaise......when she died she was afforded a state funeral..............she was lightyears beyond a romance novelist....................like the kind sold in walmart checkouts................colette was a woman of letters............a woman of ideas, of action, of passion, of substance.........to read colette is to read one's own blog.................or so i told my middle child this very day.....colette's blog would surely have sounded like mine....................or so I tell myself in my lowest moments..........
