princess diana's memorial........

ok, so the princess diana memorial has been dedicated in hyde park.......and i think it is marvelous...a reason to go to london, by the way........it is a water feature that begins in a waterfall and ends in a reflecting pool.......with a shallow oval-shaped stone water-channel in the middle.....a place for children to play on hot days...... this design has many critics......those who feel it is too casual....but then diana was a pretty casual person....in between bursts of glamour.......she would have approved the interactive nature of this memorial......a playground rather than a shrine........this was the kind of thing someone in my neck of the woods had to read-online.......the tiny article in the lexington paper was buried in the back of the first section, with no photo......of either the queen, or prince charles et al, or the memorial........the queen looked lovely in purple by the way......she did say kind things about diana's memory.......let's hope she meant them......
