snow day........

ok, so my children are off today due to snow, along with nearly all area school children......and it is a gift rather than a necessity.......gentle readers......when i can walk out to the mailbox in my robe and slippers, and neither slip nor get my toes wet.......there is not enough snow/ice to warrant a snow day.......but given the lack of snow in general, superitendents are no doubt feeling pressure from teachers for a day off here and there.....and today must be the day......and so i will go to work.....because i could not bring myself to be so wimpy as to call in 'snowbound' on such a day.....not when the road in front of my house is perfectly dry thanks to the salt spread earlier in the week.......the only area snow-covered is my driveway.......and although backing out of the garage uphill on snow is no fun.......i have done it before........ah well........there is always the possibility that lincoln clinic will be closed tomorrow and i won't have to drive down there.......unlikely...but a girl can always dream.......
