books, books, books......

ok, so....the books they are arriving.......such a wonderful thing...to open a package when one knows it is a book......but which book?......that is the question that lingers only as long as it takes to cut away the strapping tape that half.com sellers tend to orefer as binding for reused cardboard........today it is ken keesey's sometimes a great notion......i especially like late summer for book-buying......as there is never a question about such purchases......they are patently necessary...it is only the non-bookclub selections that beg the question......'just how many more books will it take to slide the house down into the lake.....?......we could be close, for all i know.....except that we did take a whopping load to the goodwill last summer......and i am pretty darn sure we haven't caught up volume-wise.......i just ordered a few more books...hoping to sneak through a few before the euphoria of book-club buying wears off.......don't tell..........
