the drive to lexington....
ok, so i have just returned from the belated trip to lexington....my spouse actually wanted me to go yesterday...but i put it off until today given that 1)the roads were still somewhat icey 2) it was still snowing 3)i felt like crap.......today i still feel like my head could explode......but at least the road conditions were improved.....so what is in lexington that can not be had in d-ville?......light fixtures.....16 inch pendant light fixtures that shine down rather than up.......preferably in antique brass......my brotherinlaw the electrician is coming for the weekend to help my spouse with a few home improvement projects....and if they had time they could change out the lamp that hangs over the front room table.....the one that i haven't noticed to be faulty in any way.....and that shines down, come to think about it.........yet there is something about it that displeases my beloved....and for him i drove to 2 fixture stores.....in between my usual haunts (goodwills and marshall's)....i am thrilled to report that i found a black snap-up reversible vest (the blue side is silk).....for $1.75 rather than the $125 an online outfit wanted for a similar vest.....and with the money i saved i treated myself to a black quilted calvin klein car-coat...that also snaps up and looks like ti will be tres chic for the cafe life in paris come late march.......and since this item was half-off....i think my trip to lexington was a success...despite the fact that i came home fixture-free......seems the style in question is not fashionable at the moment....the stores seemed to have numerous 16-inch pendant-style fixtures with the light pointed up....i did score some catalogs.....and now i can study the exact and perfect replacement lamp at my leisure...under no pressure to get home before my inlaws arrive .....any moment......
