forced-romance day....

ok, so....i am so glad this day is almost over......what with my workmates receiving flowers right and left...and folks asking me what my spouse did.....to which i replied....what did you do for your spouse?.......i fixed my beloved a filet mignon supper after my class dismissed early this evening.....i can do that because i am the instructor.....yeah the filet was wrapped in bacon....and our semi-dog loved every bit of this castoff......flowers are a lovely gesture...but i treat myself to $2.99 bouquets nearly every week....so spending (read this as wasting) cash on over-priced blooms is foolish.......on the other hand...when my spouse showed up with a new pair of walking shoes in my size...because he thought it was time for a fresh pair....i considered that intensely thoughtful and insightful.....and it mattered not one bit that the gesture did not take place on a made-for-profit holiday......
