secret fascinations....

ok, so.....today at salon.com....there was a lack of links....i had to remember that i liked 3hive.com.......but in the space that used to house links....was a plethora of classic literature excerpts......the first i listened to was sylvia plath reading from the bell jar.......omg.....this is a volume of prose that i have devoured cover to cover over the years......kind of like a secret favorite band...i was once asked about my secret favorite band...but i couldn't think fast enough to make up a secret so personal.....but sylvia......oh my.....to hear her read from her own horror was moving......details about what she remembered after her electric shock therapy.....yeah, i'd have prefered memories about her boyfriend she visited in the tb hospital...or the internship with the fashion magazine.....but this part was too painful to follow.....especially the part about her mother growing smaller and smaller.....and then larger and larger.........poor, poor sylvia.....
