monday, monday

ok, so it is monday morning, and i have just finished a 5-minute stint of cat watching whilst sipping coffee.....our silly feline prefers to eat observed, as opposed to unobserved....and i find that we can get the morning feeding out of the way if i will just go ahead and watch her eat for a few minutes while my coffee cools off and i peruse the headlines on a newspaper spread out on the counter....dainty is not a prissy enough word to describe this cat's appetite......she can nibble for a few minutes without any discernible lowering of the kibble-line in her bowl.....the very bowl that we have had for years, but which my mother just noticed at lunch yesterday......possibly the cat is humoring me for feeding her, and simply wants me to move on so she can go on outside to hunt her preferred prey......songbirds at the feeder.....or possibly she is like me and would go on back to bed if given the opportunity......
