heritage....

ok, so our church is studying its roots....and this morning the sermon was better than usual...in voicing just what our church considers its heritage.....which thankfully include the equality of all members to take on leadership roles, including...gasp.....women........and the importance of each of us coming to grips with exactly what we believe on our own...that there is no doctrine forced upon us from without or from within.....and this was good to hear again......from a new-ish minister.....that which i hold dear......that what i believe is my own business and nobody else's......and to that end i must say that i admire fred thompson in his assertion that what he believes in terms of faith is nobody's business but his own, and if he doesn't intend to wear his faith on his sleeve just to attract certain voters.....what a refreshing notion.......i was also pleased that our pastor voiced our desire to acknowledge the rights of others to believe whatever they believe, in their own fashion......
