three-ring circus

ok, so.....i am enjoying a pleasant evening...reading the papers on the front porch with a glass or two of my favorite boxed white, and watching the trio of hummingbirds flit about the feeder.....they appear to allow each other a moment or two to sip, and then the non-sippers will swoop in and dive-bomb the sipper, at which point all three fly out of sight.....the scene repeats itself time after time......at one point the swooping came mighty close to where i was sitting, and for the most fleeting of moments the larger of the birds hovered right in front of me......ah...it is the small things that make our lives so sweet......
