water, water everywhere.....

ok, so we got up early and rove to h-burg....my spouse to run the beef 'stampede', and the youngest and i to hand out water to runners at the halfway-point as well as the finish line.....this departmental collaboration has been plagued with uncertainty, as my colleagues have never done a race let alone volunteered......and so there was wringing of hands over what we would wear (race volunteer shirts, whether or not we would put up tents (no- as the event isn't very long, it is at 8 am, and there is no place to anchor a tent)and whether or not we should come earlier than 7:30 to set up (what set-up?)....as i was pulling out of the drive this morning i noticed that there was water leaking out of my neighbors yard across the road and into my neighbors yard....which meant a there was a water-line problem.....sure enough- when i got home 10-ish after errands fixing to take a shower...there was not water to be had while the water company was digging up the neighbor's yard in search of the breach.....thankfully i still had a bit of bottled water in my car to tide me over.....
