cross country and goodwill(s).......

ok, so the day was spent either on our way to a cross country meet, or traveling back from one.............with goodwill browsing on both ends.....i really love the randomness of goodwill stores.....the ntion that one can never know what treasures have just been dropped off............unless one goes inside.........the nicholasville store was brimming.....and though i had found a gap longsleeve buttondown for whichever male in my family would agree to wear it.....the checkout line was far too long...and i left it to the next person........the same with the boston road store........there was a really cute talbots spring skirt in a size 6, but one she wouldn't wear on a bet..........the meet was one where rain threatened, but didn't produce...................our good friend patrick m.won the invitational handily.........he with a 4.0 from the county system, who was told basically by the ucla-berkley coach that there was dozens more of him from california, and not to get his hopes up.........what a shame, for he is a really good student and a fabulous runner.......the danville team made an admirable showing.......and then on to the harrodsburg road goodwill, where we hit paydirt........a perry ellis trench coat for our middle child with a zip out wool lining, for $7.50.....and a part-cashmere chesterfield coat for myself in camel for the same price.........i say amen when i find great bargains such as these, and give silent gratitude to the person(s) with such good taste who decided to give them up just as i had need.....i my opinion, the reuse of clothing is one way to save the world and fund worldwide travel......through money not spent on new items.........plus there is the lure of the hunt.....................
