oh, christmas tree.....
ok, so...i dorve the truck into town so that i could buy a christmas tree before the available options were picked over.....and ended up buying the last spruce tree on the lot from the boyscouts who set up each year across from the arts center......better them than the box stores out on the bypass.....not that we will put it up anytime soon...we always wait until the birthday candles for the middle child have cooled......it is a tradition that i am loathe to break at this point......however, i am working diligently on the greenery arrangement above the front door.....made mostly of branches pilfered as i walked back from putting the truck back into my mother's garage.....accented with boxwood, cyprus, and taxus and whatever else i can rustle from my own yard.....i cannot seem to find the red bow from last year's presentation....may have to make a new bow from gold ribbon i found while searching for wire and nails.....this creation is almost bolted to the house to keep it stable......maybe a few pinecones here and there.....the day is just cold enough as to make the work tediously slow.....manipulating wire and wood with gloved hands is clumsy at best.......this flurry of decorating activity is but a stall tactic....i also bought wallpaper for the upstairs bathroom...and that project cannot begin until i treat the walls with bleach, and repaint the ceiling and woodwork......and even this project procrastinates from the grading of my health class projects.......frankly, i'd prefer to take a nice nap on the upstairs loveseat, where the sun is streaming in...dreaming that these chores were done....
