ok, so....i spent an entire work day in f-fort learning about how one budgets public funding......and i must say that i am still a bit glazed-over .....the dropping of dollars into specific slots on a spread sheet is something i must do, or i would not subject myself to such torture......or rather....pretend to drop dollars....as the actual allocations will not filter their way down to me for a few more weeks....so i learned what to do when the funds arrive weeks before they arrive.....the time gap large enough to essentially erase any memory i might have of this day.....business of usual, i am told, when one works for the state.....the best part of the day was the drive to and from.....my assistant who traveled with me knew a back road route that avoided the main f-fort traffic...and the winding road down toward the kentucky river was aglow with the white of dutchman's britches on the right hand slope.....a spectacular display of wildflowers.....
