ok, so we watched more of the convention last night....didn't tune in soon enough to hear ted kennedy or howard dean.......but i was impressed by ron reagan's plea for stem cell research funding, and his not-so-subtle jibes at an adminstration so tied to the rightwing that it can see the differences between potential life (fertilized eggs, for example) and stem cells...........with ron reagan's appearance, the republican's will have a hard time evoking the memory of ronald reagan..............especially since the remaining reagans have been so public in their disagreement with the bush administration over this issue..........on to barak.......a rising young political star who made a tremendous impact on the crowd with his good looks, passionate phrasing, and personal charisma......he reminded me of a young mlk.........he is what the democrats need to expand their base to non-committed people of color........and lastly theresa heinz kerry...........who spoke so eloquently of the american dream as seen by immigrants like herself...........maybe not as polished as hillary, but she is a force to be reckoned with...........of course, monday night's speeches were still on people's minds today at work........my octogenarian doorman, a republican.....whispered to the hostess......'i think clinton's speech really clinched the election for kerry..........'i can only hope and pray that he is right...............
