ok, so i thought i have been doing,my part.....with tubes of colgate in 3 bathrooms, plus a 4th in lexington......4 tubes per family should add up over time....it is the only toothpaste we like...so it is with distress that i read that colgate s laying off 10% of its workforce in a move to be more competitive against proctor and gamble......whose toothpaste flavor (crest) i will not even buy on deep discount......now in these parts it is considered somewhat heretical to fail to support p&g...they are based in cincinnati.....much at u of c where both of us went to grad school was funded by generous grants from p&g........the gambles actually owned a farm here in boyle county...the very one now owned by rick dees.....but that just brings us back to a consumer-driven market.......the customer still gets to decide.....and so here's one consumer hoping that her favorite toothpaste can survive the current shakeup......
