the sit-down kind of news.....

ok, so there is news that one reads in christmas cards...trips, job changes, the dog's new tricks........and then there is the sit-down kind.......the kind that our friends mary and john have.....they live in bozeman, wyoming....and have always spent their spare time training for marathons, hiking, skiiing, and the like.....and they are, as we speak, finalizing paperwork for their adopting 2 children (siblings aged 6 and 8) from kazakstan......omg.....these folks are in their early 50's,and have never had children.....this is BIG news.......but not that they want children or could manage to raise them well...not at all....the shock is in the timing....why now rather than years ago.......exciting stuff.....6 and 8......wow.......by the time that cayle graduates from high school i will be 59......somehow i doubt that my nest will feel so empty that i will start thinking of kazakstan....but i guess you never know....now THAT would be real sit-down news........
