books...

ok, so i bought 2 books to read.....on line...because i cannot find anything i want to read at home, or at the library...or at josepth-beth for some strange reason......so here goes about what i bought to read.....a collection of essays by nick hornby called the polysyllabic spree........14 months of essays he wrote for an english magazine....each month's essay begins with an accounting of books he has purchased that month versus read that month.....and a discourse on merits/critique on flaws on most........i find his bantor oddly satifying........reading about somebody else's reading.....there is a humorous aside, about the experience he had while on 'holiday', lounging by a poool, watching another lounging poolside person reading his first novel (high fidelity)......she kept falling asleep.......anyway.......the other book i bought is also a book of essays......bound to please....by michael dirda...an extraordinary one-volume literary education....i believe it was reviewed positively in the new yorker.....and i am certain that joseph-beth had both books in stock.....but i was in no mood to browse the last few times i was there...just looking at long checkout lines takes away my desire to shop........so...will my end-of-the month tally be even....2 books purchased 2 read.......or will the books read column be nice and meaty with lots of reading i came across through good fortune..........
