oriole

ok, so.....on this day i planted seeds inside (in peat pots), outside (in clay pots) cleaned out the gardening section of the garage, watered, weeded, washed the clothing worn during these tasks, and then settled into a glass of white wine and the rick steves book of italy on the deck.....not that i am going to italy......just in case my eldest who is going on a grand tour (21 days +) might want travel tips....such as stay in sienna and take the bus to florence.....sounded like sound advice to me.....as i sat peacefully...an oriole landed on a branch close enough to take in the splendor of this vibrant bird......wow...and its call is rather sparse.....a few notes rather than a string of notes.......we have seen the beginnings of an oriole nest....hanging rather than....nesting.....but it looked much too fragile for actual service.....maybe the bird has found another resting place.....i also cleaned out the pond, and fed and watered the crab that my youngest child conveniently forgets is hers......
