projects.......
ok, so.....i went out to lowe's after returning books to the library....and though they had no oak-leaf hydrangeas.....they did have 1-inch square terracotta tiles that will cover the round green metal table on the deck...the martha-like project that i saw in a magazine had one smashing old dishes but these regularly shaped tiles seemed flatter and more useful in the long run...alas, i am lacking in about 8 packages, despite buying all there were at this lowes.....will stop at the nicholasville lowes on friday (i have the label off the back).....it wasn't a good day to complete this project, as the glue directions specified not to be used in rainy weather or in temps under 45 degrees.....got us there!......i think it this table will be quite lovely.....of course, i had also meant to drop by the ace hardware to pick up floor paint (for the porch) and seminole red for the lawn furniture, and grass green for the french style chairs that go with the table.....lots of things to do before book club in mid-may....and before child #2 comes home ever-so-briefly......and even if i had no deadlines in mind....these are the sort of things that make me happiest.....let us not forget the oak-leaf hydrangea....i have one coming from wayside gardens.....back to lowes....they had about a dozen dwarf english boxwoods marked down to 3 bucks a piece.....they had a bit of frostbite on the tops....as mine here at the house do...but i may just want to swing by there on my way home from work and snap those up.....surely i can find a place that needs a dwarf boxwood edging.....
