putdownable....

ok, so i took the time to look up some on-line critiques of the book i wasted my afternoon with....(this line is not gramatically correct...forgive this transegression...)an d found ti described as a page turner...ha! as if this book had any notion of what it takes to be classed as a page turner.......i have met up with some classics in my time....goen with the wind was the first....after i saw the film...and before i allowed myself to see it again......and then in college when i discovered feminist lit......the bell jar....the yellow wallpaper...fear of flying....the colette novels.....i can recall staying up later and getting up early to take in all that these works had to offer........and more recently....grisham's the firm........i stayed up all night to see how that ended and still went on in to work the next day.....and the davinci code.....and every harry potter novel.....the kind of story line that is so intoxicating that one cannot let go long enough for sleep or nourishment......and compared to these.....this minor work was not interesting enough for me to read from the middle to the place where i leaped in for the disappointing end........and so i am back to the books i ordered when the latest list came out....white teeth, blind assassin, and red harvest....i was able to put down white teeth to read this anita shreve book......so it cannot be called a page turner......and so i may flip a coin to decide between blind assassin and red harvest...........here's hoping that at least one is a bonafide pageturner........
