30 years ago today.....

ok, so....30 years ago today i was working in the kitchen at mount carmel medical center in downtown columbus, ohio......and we were serving supper on the tray line......and a clerk stumbled in the door, in tears, to tell us that elvis was dead......and there was a great out-cry and gnashing of teeth amongst those old enough to remember him when he was in his prime....i was not in that number...and so i looked on with wonder......though it is not my lack of elvis appreciation that is on my mind this evening.....it was the abrupt power outage that...well...took me by surprise about an hour ago...no real storm to speak of.....just...poof!....and i at once regretted that i had not had the gas in the grill refilled, and that i had not started dinner already......ooops......i did read about half of member of the wedding by the upstairs window...where i could catch the only phone in play when it rang...the only phone with a cord......but now we are back to normal...and i had best get dinner going before the power goes off again.....
