ky klee-shey
ok, so....few clients say things that stop my babble cold......but the duo today came very close...the client was a 262 pound freshman, who somehow managed to get his mother to bring him to the appointment.....he wants to work on his weight, and he heard at school that people who eat regular meals rather than snack all day do better with weight......at some point in my queries about what this family keeps on hand and puts on the table....the mother, well above 262 herself......looked at me in all seriousness and said....'i have diabetes and i cannot be expected to get up off the couch to cook for him'......omg.....one hears about these women, and suspects them...but i have never ever had a woman admit to sitting back and letting her family fend for themselves......and rather than launch into her parenting style, i opted to make a mental tour around the local save-a-lot...commenting on what is available that this 15 yearold could cook for himself to make a decent, low cost meal.....and at some point the meanmamma interrupted.....'maybe if he gets good at this he can fix supper for me'.......omg.......maybe this is not abuse, per se....but what kind of person would lay on the couch and enslave her child?.......the woman is not disabled, nor helpless.....just mighty slovenly......and tragically a low income cliche......
