my pretend day off.....

ok, so......i slept until 8 this morning, as i do not have to be on handy pike picking up a workmate until 10:15.....and do not have to be at the red mile til 11:30.......today is our annual work/bonding outing.....and when i say pretend.....i mean that if one chooses not to attend, one must use vacation time for the day.......pretty silly thing to do when all that is required is to show up at the red mile club house for a buffet lunch that (last year) included peel and eat shrimp and crab legs.....i plan to slip away around 1:30 to make my rounds of lexington goodwills.....must remember that clay's mill closed.....but that still leaves a decent selection for a friday afternoon......certainly not to the level once achieved with my middle child and his honestly old friend.....we managed 6 that day, in a 3 county area.......worthy of some sort of record......but on this day i will probably manage only three and head on home...but i digress from the intended blog subject......about how much i enjoy lounging in my jammies, reading the paper, and walking my brick paths to see which roses have decided to rebloom and to sit briefly by the frog pond and listen to the waterfall......yesterday's rain has made everything especially dewy this morning...and the change from oven-ready conditions is so refreshing.......life is good......
