ok, so my family acuses me of being sadistic, but not for the usual reasons......i like to watch figure skating..the us nationals were on tv last night, so i was watching.......one after another of the pairs competing did 'throw jumps' and the female partner would miss the jump and skid off into the rink wall.......now, gentle readers, i do not like to watch skaters slide into rink walls......these accidents are incidental to watching ice skating...people do fall down from time to time...my liking to watch skating does not revolve around the possibility that a skater will fall.........i watch in hopes that they will skate perfectly and elegantly without making gasping errors.......nevertheless, those i love made quite big deal over a presumed connection between falls and my preference for watching skating......i plan to watch australian open tennis later today........i will not be watching in hopes that the ball is missed.......just for the record.....
