tomato celery soup

ok, so....here is a recipe that i am submiting to the heart of danville cookbook.....haven't made it in a while...there was a time when i mde it almost everyday.....

Tomato Celery Soup

1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp dry sherry...not cooking sherry
1 can tomato soup
1 can water
1/2 cup half&half
1 tsp minced parsley

Saute onions and celery in butter until soft. Deglaze pan with sherry, then add tomato soup and water. Simmer til heated through. Add half&half. Garnish with parsley. Lemon juice may be used instead of sherry, but the flavor will suffer.
