liberals............

ok, so the trc accountant ate at the restaurant yesterday, in the midst of the craziness..............she asked about how the college touring had gone, and had my boy narrowed down his choices...............'well, he sent his sat II scores to princeton, middlebury, reed, and oberlin.......' i replied...............'oberlin', she gasped, almost choking............how can you let your child go there...........i had friends who went to oberlin...they are way-out liberal up there in ohio.......you surely don't want your child to go a liberal school?'.............................hello........surely somebody out there suspects that a family of hyphenated names might be a tad liberal, if not full-frontal leftwing..........well, i won't go so far as to say left wing.......because even i am not that extreme.............but still, to have someone i have know for awhile not make that connection was surprising.............maybe because we lack tatoos...........
