ted williams......

ok, so this weekend i have been listening to a mystery on tape......the burglar who traded ted williams......gentle readers, i have little historical backround when it comes to america's pasttime......but i do know that ted williams played for boston................. so i was surprised to find that some mustard company may have put out a series of 40 ted williams cards, which could be obtained with the purchase of mustard........and somehow this mystery involved the theft of this series......except that the theft happened in nyc........which throws a wrench into this mysterious lovefeast of a novel........why would someone in nyc care about the theft of ted williams cards............for my money, this has been a pretty savvy mystery....as the author has played about with kinsey milhone, who is sue grafton's heroine..........which means that he is intelligently playful......but the boston baseball cards/nyc setting of his novel makes no sense................ah well.....i am quite critical of mystery novels......they are MY pasttime..................
