perfect morning......

ok, so one of my definitions of perfection involves sunday morning.........when i get up early enough to read both papers, on the back deck, overlooking the lake, with good coffee with real cream..and the temperature is not too cold.....and i have plenty of time before i have to work on my sunday school lesson....the blue heron was on our dock when i got outside, and i must have startled him because he took flight immediately........in a glide across the creek to a ragged tree just opposite.......this morning i even have a brace of dogs underfoot........not quite beneath my feet, but close enough that i will trip over them if i forget they are there......the yellow dog has become big enough to be a footrest, by the way......they are out here despite the fact that i have no food to beg for.........they just like to be 'with' their human, is suppose........today's bonus was the roses.....at least 6 bushes have blooms, though none with a frangrance can be detected from this vantage point.....the trellis rose is the best for aroma....but it's zillion blooms number only about 5-6 right now.........it should burst forth anyday................also in bloom are wild phlox in varying shades of lavender, wild columbine as well as the heritage columbine grown from seeds purchased at monticello.......and the blue columbine from my grnadmother's house in cleveland.....and bath pinks, and blooming chives and sage........and iris in varying shades and species.......and red poppies..and lily of the valley.....my little world is just lovely .........and so peaceful......and perfect
