identification

ok, so this morning, when the mm was at her polling place at 8:05 am.....there was a new person at the official sihn-in book......and i was asked for SOME FORM OF IDENTIFICATION.......gentle readers......mm has voted at this same location for 22 years, and only had to give id the very first time......because the polling people were either.....people who lived near to me...or people i went to church with....or people who had attended a class that i had given on cholesterol....or people who read my article........this morning there were no such people in eyesight...........but as i turned to run out to the car to get my wallet...........a little lady came walking from the vicinity of the bathrooms, and said...i know her...she once put me on a diet...........i voted my quick little special election selection............and went on my way..........the issue of identification has been huge at trc this past week.............due to an altercation in which we refused service to a young -looking person who could not produce a driver's liscense...........her parents were with her, and they became angry because we could not take their word on her age...........legally, all who have been served alcohol must have proof of age available to show an ABC inspector, who has the right to do so at any given and unannounced moment...........in fact, the 'my daughter is old enough to drink' ruse is one that was mentioned in our alcohol training class as a favorite used by inspectors..........granted...........this child had graduated from college, and could have been old enough to drink, but i personally know one darling prodegy who will graduate college before she is old enough to drink............so even that argument won't hold up.......no id, no alcohol...........this person actually lives close enough to have gone home and gotten her purse if drinks were that important...........
