no memory

ok, so at lunch we had 'everybody' for lunch, and the discussion somehow went from the picture in the danville advocate with our little our group and nicole and her friend in montmartre........and how the meal at that restaurant was bad, and how we took the bus back from montmartre because nicole insisted, and how on this trip i finally got to see the small statue of the liberty that stands up river from the eiffel tower on its own little island.....my mother informed me that i had seen that statue in 1972 when our family of four first went to europe.............i have no recollection of this, and other facts she reclled like they were yesterday........like how i took a gideon bible from the hotel in amsterdam and left $2 american in exchange.......and how i had seen my cousin nancy in the metro on the way to the louvre where we were to meet her, and how my mother had been upset when she saw me waving to someone in a country where we didn't know anyone..............these things did not stick in my brain........either they were non-important details, or i have selected what was important to remember in my limited brain slots and have forgotten the rest, or my mother remembers things that did not happen....either way it is clear that one's relatives will always remember the oddities in one's life, even when we have conveniently forgotten them............
