so very old.....

ok, so i did 3 hours of intense yard work yesterday.....cleaning out some invasive plants from a bed roots and all....and so this morning my back is stiff...and my wrists and fingers are incredibly sore.....one doesn't use the wrist as often as one would think.....that grasping motion requires more strength through repetitive training that one realizes until one actually does the work....and suffers through the aftermath......and so on to the next beds this afternoon.....though there is less to do with most of them save for pulling out wild onions (grasping motion required....) and picking out dead stalks, fallen branches.....etc....i must resist the temptation to rethink the location of any of the plants in these beds.......at some point i could move the smaller boxwoods from present locations to the perimeter to create more interest in the off season......maybe interplant with some bushes that turn red in the fall....that would be nice.....but......i could get this whole cleaning out business done this week if i keep it simple and on task.......i could/should transplant the lamb's ear that has become invasive in the bed reserved for planting new seeds......we bought some interesting seeds at longwood garden and some...like the sweet peas....really need to be planted asap......and then i could put in some of the french mix lettuces......oh...there is always so much one can do in one's garden.......and this is a good thing for the soul......i always feel so spiritually renewed after i have done something useful outdoors with these plants that i have come to love after so many years.......i say this with numerous thorn wounds......not all plants, roses especially, are capable of loving me back.....ha!.....but then it is serendipity that a meanmamma such as myself would in turn be growing meanroses......
