eight days of fried delights....

ok, so i enjoyed the npr piece about the treats made during the eight days of the jewish holiday of lights that i cannot spell.....either with an h or a c ....i was intrigued about the latke part......mostly because these marvelous concoctions are considered holiday fare by some....and saturday at the c-dubs by others.......my current version includes white and sweet potatoes along with scallions......despite the e coli risk.......with sour cream.....and an omelet if i am in an especially maternal mood.......if the potatoes are especially large...there may be enough latkes to chill and bring out later on as a little afternoon repast.....mostly they are gone by the time i decide it is time to shower and dress....i am planning on my latkes for monday morning after the presents....along with pineapple kuchen (my grandmother clara stephan broughton's recipe)...and bacon and eggs......life will be very good with a menu like that...............
