paris shopping......

ok, so today i came across this article on shopping in paris with a bit of horror......what if i have things scheduled too tight to allow for browsing in gorcery stores, or stationary stores...or even gift shops.......i do recall that there is a large poster shop on rue st-andres-des-arts......which always seemed to be open late, as i recall......there are goods that i love to bring back, if only for my own enjoyment...the tarragon mustard from provence...lavender honey.....the little herbed goat cheeses in a jar preserved in olive oil, an especially tasty smoked salmon pate......with our global groceries it is possible to procure some of these niceties in lexington...but there is nothing so marvelous as toting them home and doling them out as one sees fit.....the same thing goes for prints and posters and the like....i like to buy ahead for gifts.....my original intent was to purchase livres en francais for certain of my favorite folks....but at least one may spend the summer in paris.....and he may not want to be burdened with french literature selected by his mm......ah well.......for those not going to france any time soon, i would love to seek out favorite items only available in france.......
