warming up slowly...

ok, so i am finally starting to warm up after yesterday.....one usually feels a bit toastier after a hot bath, a good night's sleep, and a mug of hazelnut coffee.....and the dinner last evening was pure comfort food.....a variation on a belgian carbonade...this time with pork, and lots of onions, and a bottle of dark beer, and some dried cherries and a bit of tomato paste.....simmered for hours in my copper lidded pot....so very tender and lusciously flavored...shoulda taken a picture, it looked better than some magazine recipes i've seen......leftovers for lunch.....hope this recipe microwaves well.......but i digress from the chill....the weather has turned cold, and the chill persists...there was frost on the grass when i walked out to get the papers....i have had it with this belated winter weather, what with spring upon us.......and the daffodils already in bloom......i could use a bit of warming sunshine right about now......
