clean clothing.....

ok, so we arrived home after a marathon day to find our luggage.....two days before we leave, but better than not showing up at all......we sent chocolate down to the clerk that was kind enough to call the airline for us.....saw the louvre highlights today...us and thousands of others who had the same idea....mona and venus and nike are quite popular....and the crown jewels...but when we headed back to the egyptian exhibits at my daughter's request, the crowds thinned to a point where we descended a stiarcase entirely alone....and stopped to enjoy the moment of solitude.....the richelieu wing was nearly deserted as well.....northern european paintings and the apartments of louis phillipe....found a cafe on a terrace overlooking the pyramid in that wing....basked in the sunshine over a lovely vegetable potage and a crisp white.....ah...life is good......made another attempt to ascend the eiffel tower....the lines looked in the 2 hour range....and so we went on to the nearly deserted l'arc du triomphe....and climbed those stairs instead......not quite sure how to spend tomorrow.....want to see the stravinsky fountain, do a bit of shopping (for things that are not curios....) and light candles.....for chiara and for my luggage......
