home again

ok, so.....i thought about calling this blog e(square).....for the exhilleration combined with exhaustion that is foreign travel......we were so thoroughly searched at charles de gaulle that both of us were patted down after removing all but our pants and shirts.......my quart-size plastic bag of gels, liquids, and creams was also perused carefully after it showed up on the xray......curiously, i was more concerned that i might have mislaid the prescription for the sinus spray....but that was never an issue coming or going......my yard is aglow with bloom: redbuds are at their peak...if there is one thing we can grow here on this slope it is redbuds......my spouse and eldest child fixed the trellis while i was gone......one of the roses has large buds.....cannot recall which rose it is....it is one of the ones i moved last fall......and it is lost to me until i see it and can look it up...that is the nice thing about roses: they can be traced by description and by photograph.....i will not likely attempt to print my pictures this evening.....my body thinks it is 1:00 am......i want it noted on my permanent record that i spent the least on myself on this trip than on any in the past....and this actually raised eyebrows going through customs.....why we bought so little....as if we must be hiding some extragavance......had we found the secret paris goodwills it would have been another story....maybe next time.....
