iris and old-fashioned columbine....

ok, so now that the torrential rainshower has passed for a bit, i was able to venture out for my daily garden tour....the old-fashioned columbine are set to bloom...so far i see the double pink i grew from seed ( a lewis and clark variety purchased at monticello)....as well as wild red columbine....there used to be blue columbine from my grandma broughton's house in cleveland, but i have not seen signs of it this year......which will make me sad......the purple iris is set to bloom soon,......and the pinks......already fragrant as i wander my paths.....i have8 rise bushes to plant when the rain subsides....4 sally holmes, 3 peace, and 1 climbing iceburg......i have yet to receive the oak-leaf hydrangea.....i would like to plant them all at once and get it over with......tomorrow i plan to get mulch...and to start at the back of the house first and work back jsut because...i also plan to enlarge the seating area by the pond with bricks already on hand.....in my spare time.....
