nobel season......

ok, so...nobel season brings out the worst in me......as i annually send condolences to the only economist i know who fully expects to be on the nobel short-lost...at least one day......this morning i listened with amusement to the story on npr about betting on the nobel prizes for both peace and literature.....seems doris lessing wasn't high on that list....when she heard about her prize she was returning to her flat in london and assumed that the crowd of reporters gathered near her doorstep were covering a film-scene of some sort....and she proceeded to sit on her doorstep and give her interviews...i was impressed.....i was also impressed to read today that the good money is on al gore to win the peace prize......which means he won;'t win the peace prize...because the good money is always wrong in these categories.....
