problematic.....

ok, so.....our faithful contractor/builder showed up yesterday afternoon with his new assistants and proceeded to rip out the posts and railings. He had installed or repaired these same posts 20 years ago, and is replacing them with fiberglass components that will hopefully last longer than the originals. He was able to position 2 of the new vertical supports before heading home for his weekend.....and it was at this point that he came to me in all serious about an unanticipated consequence.....'with the new posts there is no place to put the spare key.......i went to put the key back only to realize that there is not there anymore'.....omg...these columns lack the little shelves near the top that so handily allowed us hiding space for keys, and sometimes birds for nests......our builder seemed to feel the loss as much as i......must now try to figure out where next to hide a house key...change is difficult..........
