buzzards

ok, so.....my spouse and i walked three laps around the loop after supper....and amused ourselves by the buzzard-count......at least 18 if we take both our counts and average them between those we saw in trees and those we saw circling above.....18 buzzards?!.....are they passing through or here to stay?....we see no sign of actual carrion.....thankfully.....but the specter of weeks and weeks of buzzards is troubling with or without a decidedly dead food source.....
