fake muenster....

ok, so.....i am proud to live in a cheese family....the collective we just love cheeses of the world....and would have a difficult time narrowing down the list of favorites...both everyday cheeses and special occasion cheeses.....i happen to prefer meunster melted on meat.....or eggs....it gets nice and oozy, yet clings where-ever it was placed....muenster had a supple texture...just the way cheese should be.......and so imagine my surprise when i opened up a newly purchased package of muenster...and the slice crumbled as i lifted it off of the stack.....gentle readers....muenster doesn't crumble....and then there was the tart taste....what?...muenster is mild not tangy.......and then it dawned on me.....this was not really muenster...rather sliced cheddar with the edges dyed to make it look like muenster....a travesty!.......not that i have anything against cheddar.....it is still CHEESE.....but when i buy muenster i expect the cheese to be muenster.....i may write q quick note to the aldi people to let them know that some of their customers are not so easily fooled.....
