slow but steady.......

ok, so having invested my birthday money into a pda.....i am slowly getting the hang of programming it, modifying it to match my whims.......and most importantly, downloading music onto it...........gentle readers.....the downloaded music part has been the most vexing.......because this devil's device called a pda seems incapable of hanging on to licenses..even with the backup files present.....it will play songs for weeks, and then abruptly come up with an error box that announces that this song cannot be played without access to its license........the error boxes are most likely to pop up when i am out walking the 2 mile circuit at anderson-dean park over my lunch hour.........rendering the electronic contraption capable of playing only those songs that i transferred from albums we physically own.......last tuesday i finished my walk with a long playlist of cat stevens.......and not the songs i especially like.......the songs that wouldn't play were downloaded legally.....actual cash changed hands with the new napster.......which makes me furious and frustrated....so i deleted everything on my storage card and started over......i was able to play music on thursday and friday.....it is an uneasy peace between me and the record industry that appears to have rigged this little hand-held music machine to randomly reject downloaded songs.......only time will tell how long this detente lasts......i am also frustrated by the decided lack of wi-fi hot spots in the areas in which i work........it is not that the populous doesn't know or suspect about wi-fi....there just aren't any hotspots close enough........i am still trying to make workable the program i downloaded for blogging from my pda.......i cannot seem to get beyond certain points.....such as the submission of my password.......it just locks up......so i will keep trying until something works.......which appears to be the key to both portable and desktop pc domination......keep trying until you happen upon the correct combination.........i am so impressed that people actually know how to do this stuff in 2 or 3 quick strokes...rather than 2-3 days (or 2-3 weeks) of willy-nilly guesswork......frankly, i am impressed when anybody manages to use a computer for anything above and beyond solitaire........ but then i am easily amused.......oh yeah....i have been able to transfer a few selected photos to my pda.....and now have my eldest and his girlfriend as my screensaver........i feel so accomplished at this moment........a fleeting feeling that i must try to capture in song at some point.......there is a distinct lack of lyrics that extol the glory of minor computer programming victories......for those who keep score........spellcheck likes to suggest replacing blogging with the word flogging........same difference, eh?
