evacuate the building, immediately.....

ok,so today, in my thursday county, the up and downstairs fire alarms went off at once....and when the director couldn't get them to stop.....she felt obligated to call 9-11....duh!.......and so the firemen came in their full garb.....and we filed out into the front parking lot carrying our purses, and bookbags, and coffee.....and proceeded to sit on the damp curbs until the all-clear was given...nearly an hour later......we have no idea what happened...there was a prevailing feel of toxicity......burning throat and eyes, nausea......and an aroma that wasn't quite smoke and not quite chemical.......one wonders if this property sits atop some waste dump that leaks carcinogens from time to time.......i did sit quite close to my open window for the rest of the day....the firemen discovered that the alarms went off soon after the windows were opened.....hmmmm.....aside from that excitement we were slow due to the drizzle.....and i was able to study my class lesson (cardiovascular disease) at my leisure......i have not mentioned my thursday night class much.....we are nearing our third out of four exam.....and so far these folks are so memorable that i can name each and every one.....life is good, and the foreign travel funded by such goodness is priceless.......
