mm's almost day-off

ok, so i have only to work from 8-9:30 to be able to go free into the world for the rest of the day......i did have the option of using valuable vacation time for that paltry 1.5 hours, but i am saving up for christmas and spring break.....and so what will i do with this day....which isn't quite as uncharted as i would prefer.....the moment i announced its reality to the diminishing throng at the supper table, the reminders about dentist appointments after school, and other semi-essential errands started to dwindle the actual free-time from the other end......hardly seems fair.....i do plan to stop and buy a few mum plants on the way home, as well as some spring bulbs.....one of the 'ladies magazines' that get dropped off at the health department waiting rooms by nice folks in the community mentioned using vegetable garden space to grow bulbs as a spring cutting garden.....and since this particular patch of ground on the other side of the hedge can't manage to grow squash or yellow beans especially well.....might just try tulips......for the record, this area is one of the few places i can say with certainly is not the final resting place of a cat or dog.......one simply doesn't dig deep in these spots ever.......just to be on the safe side.......i could sit on the deck budled up and read the rest of my latest iris installment.......at this point the sultry sister-in-law has seduced or rebuffed just about everybody (think blanche debois, only younger and more conniving....) including her own nephew, and now it seems her sister's husband......in the iris tradition i expect someone to die unexpectedly and in this case i am hoping that the sister-in-law steps out in front of a bus before she can do more damage to other people's lives.....my second candidate for erasure is the philosophy professor that the s-i-law ran off with before the book begins....he has taken on a shakeperean puck-like role....and is trying to break up those relationships that the s-in-law has somehow overlooked.....and i am hoping the the s-in-law's husband of record will get out of his funk and take a shower and get on with his life......surely this saga is worth a bit of my friday........
