siding with the material girl......

ok, so this from the ap......LILONGWE, Malawi - A 1-year-old boy that Madonna and her husband are seeking to adopt left for England on Monday, flying first on a chartered plane to South Africa, then on a regularly scheduled flight to London, where the pop singer has a home.

The boy, David Banda, was accompanied by two Britons and two Americans, one of whom listed her occupation as nanny, according to an immigration official at the airport in Malawi who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. In Johannesburg, a woman carried the child from the chartered plane.

The U.S. Embassy would not comment, saying visa issues were private.

though i am not much of a material girl devotee.....i have to side with her on this adoption issue....yeah, this african country is going against its own policies in allowing this adoption, this child will be far better off where he's headed than if he stays put.....especially given the publicity......if the 'rights' group succeeds in blocking the adoption he would forever be the boy that madonna tried to adopt....and that stigma would be far worse, as he struggles against all odds in his impoverished nation.....my own adopted child's birth mother speaks longingly of the family that wanted to adopt her when she was small.....and in foster care despite having two living parents....and has openly wondered how her life would have turned out if she had been adopted.......this is heartbreaking to hear let alone see played out in the tabloids for a child who could have a better life......
