cobblestones......

ok, so the 2 stretches of cobblestones were the big story at the t-de-f today.....lots of wrecks.....but none on the cobblestones....some big names in the back of the pack......most notably the basque riders......which is sad....they excell in the mountains....and do not do as well on the flat stages.......lance is 5th overall.....which is where he wants to be at this stage.....he has no need to be in the lead this early on......it is a real kick to watch his team rise around him....strategizing as they go.......so many end-games going on....teams helping teams because they have something in common to gain.....the commentators are outstanding....they can recall every bike race and every rider in their collective memories......and only 18 days to go..............
