nostalgia.......

ok, so today i ordered my middle child's senior pictures...from the array of choices presented professionally in a leather binder....the photographer is in my sunday school class.....she is slowly taking over the business from her parents......who have known my children forever.........the photographer's mother took the order...and was quick to point out that she remembered scw when he was in the 'middle room' in the nursery at church....less than 6 months but older than bedbaby....got it?........and she seemed to remember every picture she ever took of us as a family...this family takes the pictures for our periodic church directory.....and therefore we have lovely professional portraits taken every 3 years or so.....including 2 with cayle.....we also have a non-church directory portrait done by renee......just after the adoption....a gift from her foster parents.........we had several shots taken......the best is of the three children.....in an outdoor fall setting......those who do not know our family history would swear that our daughter resembles our sons......we have the enlarged version atop the mantle.......in an antique frame..........there was also the nearly wall-size portrait that renee hung in her showroom for several seasons........we declined to buy it.....as it was SO BIG as to be embarassing....but we were flattered that we were in her showroom as an example of a really nice outdoor shoot...........but...back to the task at hand......i did authorize for scw's favorite shot to be in the yearbook...in the leather armchair......and for a small number of wallets to be made....the rest will be in the pose i liked the best...outdoors...standing by a wall.....ah......they grow up sooooooooooooooo fast...........
