sheryl crow.....

ok, so the guys who cover the tour on oln finally got their interview with sheryl crow after yesterday's stage.......speculation has been ripe about how her presense in lance's life....and on the tour will affect the outcome.......the tabloids as well as sports illustrated and outside magazine have had a field day......let's give her some credit....for starts...she has undertaken to learn the art of cycling herself.....the story goes....from our trek dealer, by the way.....that sheryl and lance walked into an l.a. bike shop....and he saw the exact bike he had in mind for her...a smaller version of his own trek racing bike...weighs 2 pounds.....and costs $4500....and the dealer was msart enough to let them just walk out with it.....and arrnage to call trek for compsation later....lance is trek's posterboy...and he does not have to pay for a bike for his girlfriend........and so...sheryl begins to train.....and gets good enough that she does the first 25 miles of lances's training rides with him...then switches over to the pursuit car.......she even rode up alp d'uez....the mean uphill stage that tends to separate the winners from the losers in each year's tour......she rode up that mountain in 90 minutes......albeit lance can do it in 20...but my point is that she is no groupie hanger-on, but a partner prepared to be completely supportive......i am impressed.....of course...i am still saddened by the breakup of his family........but she had nothing to do with that......so if it makes her happy...it can't be that bad.......
