it's a small world......

ok, so the philosophy professor at governor's scholars called this morning to make arrangements for him to bring a small group of 19 for lunch in 2 weeks.....there was talk of price range, etc.......and then we had a good laugh over the last time we spoke......i actually met this man, who teaches during the school year at eastern kentucky university........in a long security line at charles de gaulle airport back in january........he was wearing a beautiful gold suit jacket, and a lovely tie.....and it all looked so brilliant against his dark skin.....and so i made some comment about how he looked like he belonged in a fashion magazine....he chuckled.....and we got to talking about where we had been and where we were going.....he was coming through paris on his way back from visiting family in nigeria....and we were both going to lexington......and he was surprised to learn that i teach at eky's danville campus.....and because he teaches at governor's scholars in danville he had actually eaten in my restaurant......can you believe it?......anyway....i pointed him out to scw on opening day.....and so scw was already aware of this connection before he found out that he would be taking a philosophy class with patrick and before their group started talking about going out to lunch.......cannot wait....to see scw, of course.....but also to chat again with patrick.....he seems a fascinating character......and you gotta love people you meet in paris.....
